Looking forward to the future

My husband has been in a sex offender rehabilitation program since Jan 2014. He only has about a month and a half left to complete it. This program was a three phase program which consisted of weekly group therapy meetings, a polygraph and an Abel assessment.

We are hoping that his probation officer will put in a request for early release from probation, but it would probably be sometime between October to January since he was originally sentenced for "up to three years" and the sentence gets reduced 20 days for every month that they pay their fees on time and are working full-time.

We were just reading through the court papers yesterday which says that once he is honorably discharged he "could" restore his right to vote and would no longer have to disclose his arrest to employers. He is currently working but it is not exactly the work he wants to be doing so hopefully not having to disclose his record would give him the opportunity to find a job that he really enjoys.

We aren't exactly sure what the restrictions are for Tier 1 offenders who have completed their probation, but we look forward to being able to travel...go camping, go to the beach, maybe even leave our city and start fresh. We'll see, but I'm trying to stay positive and tell myself that *someday* our lives will be "normal again!
